I wish someone would survey me...I'll tell them what I thought. The attitude of my FA when I refused my box of grass was if she cooked it herself.
I actually got row 5 on that flight too.

It's interesting that people have this attitude towards salad, it has protein, to me it is only lacking heat compared to the hot meal...I'd rather a decent salad than the hot slop that is typical of airline food on shorter sectors (granted hot QF dom catering is decent imo)

Most QF hot meals were not too bad. The chicken salad is OK but to be served the same salad every time is a bit boring. I wish there would be more variety.

The chicken pesto pasta is pretty good, probably the best Y food I've had in a long time. One thing I will give them is that they're fresh, not like the frozen unidentifiable curry and rice combinations nuked to within an inch of their life...

Thought that l'd add my 2 cents.

Did CNS-SYD today with the wife. QF927

They don't look the best - almost like someone opened a tin of Pal's dog food and put it in the tray, but actually tasted ok.

For the record, dog food also tastes ok, for those (un)lucky enough to try it. Although dog biscuits are quite nice. (I was tricked into trying it).

It's a domestic economy meal. Neil has very little, if anything, to do with it.

that's not what the Qantas webste says... it says dom Y meals are NP influenced...

Fifteen years ago, Qantas began working with award-winning Sydney restaurant, Rockpool, bringing about a whole new way of cooking and serving onboard. The philosophy of Neil Perry's cooking is simple - contemporary cuisine made from the best seasonal produce available.

[h=2]Domestic Economy[/h]Enjoy complimentary inflight dining and refreshments, suited to the time of day you travel and the length of your flight, with our delicious cuisine influenced by renowned chef Neil Perry.

The Qantas website making incorrect inferences then. This came up at a Qantas sponsored dinner and in answer to a direct question, Neil Perry does not have any input into economy catering.

I forgot to mention the tray was back on Friday night BNE-SYD.

Chicken pie (?), bottle of water, small bar of chocolate, bread roll and Lurpak butter.

yeah... not buying that unfortunately. The website is clear and unequivocal... domestic economy meals are influenced by NP.

either he doesn't care what the website says.... or he is happy that what is presented reflects his brand and his cooking.

That is not the answer I received when I posed the question to Neil Perry last year at the Rockpool lunch in Sydney.
