Business class seats that do not lay flat, but rather the occupant has to wriggle down? Finnair launches a business class seat that doesn't recline
How often does this happen to you and how do you deal with it? I've had a couple of cases where I've put a DND on the door prior to going out and come back to find my room cleaned. It's quite irritating because I don't like my belongings being repositioned and have medical supplies I don't want people seeing, but I assume it's done either in good faith or for housekeeping to make it easier for themselves on check out day. I've read that some hotels do condition checks on rooms regardless of...
I came across this review, a year old, of beer with zero alcohol content: https://www.dmarge.com/food/best-non-alcoholic-beers Do Qantas and other airlines serving Australia serve such beer (or, wine)? Are they available in lounges like QF F for pre-flight drinks?
This will take time & patience, so either “Patience hurry up” or “Hurry up & wait”. This has not been tested & is a strategy that might work to obtain a US Amex Plat Business Charge Card with a USD$450 annual fee. The Australian version is quite a hefty annual fee in excess of AUD$1500. Building credit: Open a BofA checking account & obtain a secured credit card. It can be done in 15 mins and all you need is a passport and driver licence. Deposit USD$2200 into checking account, by keeping...

I figure we have the Epiqure thread, and the VM thread, but this might be a good place to list other wine deals so that they aren't so easily missed. DM's have some secret deals right now: https://www.danmurphys.com.au/list/secret-selection?source=homepage&medium=slot2&campaign=carousel-tracking As per other threads, the Champers is Taittinger and the Shiraz is Wolf Blass Brown Label.
We will be visiting Japan in the month of April for 12D/11N ( 16 - 28) including the travel. Secured accommodation at Mercure Tokyo Hibiya and Mercure Kyoto Station. Can the experts suggests what are some of the activities/attractions not to be missed. We want to catch the cherry blossom at Aomori , has someone did that in the past in April ? Also how bad is the queue at DisneySea as that is non-negotiable for my son who is 8. We also want to experience the tea ceremony , the samurai/sumo...
I'm heading back to AU in a couple of weeks and decided to give EK F a whirl BKK-SYD, as probably won't get the chance again anytime soon. Have chosen my seat (1A), but if there's a better seat I should choose - let me know, it's pretty empty right now; had the entire cabin to choose from. Booked the Chauffeur as well, hopefully no problems finding my place, but I'm sure they'll contact me if any problems there. Menu from this month looks rather good, and they have JWB on board, so I'll be...

I was in the TK J lounge at Istanbul yesterday and noticed that there was a complimentary ironing service. Literally a booth with a staff member and an ironing board. This is the same lounge that has a golf simulator and a VR flight simulator. What other unique features have you found at an airport lounge that you haven't seen in any other lounge?
Kids who've earned frequent flyer status
https://www.afr.com/companies/transport/meet-the-frequent-flyer-whose-kids-have-hit-gold-status-20241028-p5kluw I am not sure this is possible thoughts?
I’m planning a trip from BNE to DUB in August with QR/VA. The only option BNE-DOH is the 777-330ER. As I’ve read that QR’s 3-4-3 configuration on the 777 in Y makes it a pretty uncomfortable flight for 15 hours, I’m planning to fly to SYD to take the A380 instead. If there’s a complete balls up with seat selection (see my other posts), at least I’ll be stuck with a marginally more comfortable plane. Am I being silly? As the ex-BNE flights are more expensive than the ex-SYD ones, it only...
I wasn't sure if this was the right place to post this but I was researching for new FFPs with the changes to BAEC and I was reading a post by Lucky/Ben from OMAAT on his strategy for this year. He posted the comment below: Having played the game for 10 years as a fascinating hobby, the potential health impacts of frequent flying and cost has crossed my mind. This made me question whether the benefits outweigh the costs in chasing FF points/status anymore. I have QF WP and LTG so am I...
As I get older and tick more of my bucket list destinations, especially the ones that have bird watching as the primary goal I was thinking that there was one destination that I won't be able to get to in my travel lifetime. Venezuela has 1412 bird species and spectacular scenery. I was there briefly in the 80's when I was budget backpacking around South America but I didn't get into birding until the 2000's. I would love to go there and see all those beautiful "lifers" as we call new...
Note that this is not exclusively a "Round The World" Award. While it can be so used, it can also be used for "Round Trips", "Circle" Trips or even "one-way trips" without actually going "Round The World". Also note the following from the T&C review that comes up on Qantas.com if you have successfully selected flights and reach the Review "Check" page: Please keep that in mind in discussions. If you're new to the Qantas Oneworld Classic Flight Reward (often referred to as the Qantas...
We knew it was coming..... but we thought 1st April 2026. Nope, 1st April 2025. https://mediacentre.britishairways.com/news/30122024/introducing-the-british-airways-club-more-ways-to-earn-tier-points-than-ever-before It's brutal. Of course it was 'due to member feedback', so we only have ourselves to blame. After more than a decade of BA Gold ....... it'll be bye bye from me. There's no way I'll get close to spending £20,000 / year, even with some of the other ways you can earn TP via BA...
Dress codes: What to wear on a cruise
WCMO is this ( on board Silver Moon, cruising the tropics). Read the dress code So tomorrow, “men must wear a jacket in all indoor spaces”. Really? I have to have a jacket on all the time when I’m inside the ship? My cabin? At breakfast? No. WCMO is their inability to write a coherent sentence of what they mean. What they mean is in the dining and bar areas you have to wear a jacket. Which is stupid enough in the tropics, but is it really so difficult to form those words in print? Of...
