Don't know if it was mentioned but there is a new inflight menu coming. Apparently its a "big improvement"....so they say...:D

Considering the menu is separate to the magazine I assume it will happen sometime this month.

I think it's coming out on the 11th.

The new menu doesn't have Hot Chocolates, and I'm not happy!

Where is everyone finding info about the new menu? Apparently there will be no spirits according to someone's post on AUSBT!?

 Now that could only be classed as sending out mixed messages! That info must surely be wrong. An airline can't be making a push to being a premium carrier and credible business option whilst removing popular drink options from the inflight service.

I hope they still have the pie! I haven't had one yet and I have my first DJ evening flight >2 hours on the 14th! Everything else I have been doing has been MEL-SYD returns so haven't had a chance to have one yet!

Ditto, in fact it would be good if it was served on all flights hour plus!

Pies are great. Problem is they take around 20 mins or so to heat them up, that's why they would only be available on longer flights.

I don't think they can start heating them up until they are above 10,000ft and the fasten seatbelt sign is off,

Re: Now You're Flying Virgin Australia

I have been served a Pie just as we reached cruise, so it should not be an issue.

Which is pleanty of time. They usually put them on once they reach 10,000 ft, and the fasten seatbelt sign has been flicked off and on. The hint for the crew to be able to get up.

Unless you are in one of the first few rows to be served, they are ready to be served.

My point was that the ovens can't be used on the ground, or in the initial climb.

Flew my Brother back from BNE (to MEL) Sunday on a late notice 6.9K C&P PE booking. (Best value option)

He said the pies were very nice - he even had two!

Very pleased to have a row of six seats to himself on an otherwise crowded aircraft as well (one other PE PAX had row 2). :p

I also have big finger tips and found touch screens are hard to work. BlackBerry fixed that problems. Love my BB Torch 9800. Big touch screen and real keys that can be worked with big finger tips. :D

Beef meal is pretty good also (3 hour flights)
TIP: if flying PE grab some cheese and crackers, stick the chees in the mash and let it melt. definately deccadent!
