I'm looking for the cheapest business seats AKL-LHR in Sept and the best on offer is from Thai. But by looking at Seat Guru I see that Thai don't have lie-flat seats on all their planes, just some. And I can't tell on Zuji which plane the Thai flight is operating. Or have I missed something? Anyone know how I can do this (determine the type of aircraft) thru Zuji? I'd hate to buy the tickets and then find I've paid business price for a comfier upright seat.
And also: can I grab a seat allocation when I buy thru Zuji? Until i looked at SeatGuru and SeatExpert i had no idea there were "lesser" seats in business - but now that i know i don't want one!!::D

Do you know the flight numbers? ON expertflyer I can check the aircraft type which could indicate which config they might have - although that is not 100% if they have different configs on teh same aircaft type...

Hmm zuji should indicate a/c type. Failing that make a dummy booking on TG website. If you make the dummy booking in F you can see if the a/c is a refurbished one or not by the seatmap. But note a/c substitutions can occur often on TG.

TG AKL-BKK is always A340 (so new seats).

From thaiair.com the seat map looks to be refitted 747 (= good seats).

Let me know if you end up booking the outbound flights as listed above ;)

Thanks for that! No, I won't be actually since I'm going to stopover in Thailand for a week's R&R. According to Zuiji I can do that if I phone them (d'oh - they should tell me what the plane is!). I really wanted to stop in Singapore but no-one seems to fly LHR-AKL thru there. I don't think I could bear stopping in Thailand/Malaysia, flying to Singapore, and then back again to resume the flight to AKL. Not with a 5y.o.

(Note to self: must buy shares in Qantas & Singapore Airlines since they don't seem to discount/have available seats ... so must be doing well)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yeah, but I can't seem to find any cheap seats. (Any alternatives to Zuji? I tried Travelocity but they return to home page everytime I select a flight and click on 'book'. I presume they want me to use their Australasian subsidiary Zuji)

Lots of online TAs, or book at the airline websites, or if all too hard use a regular TA.

expedia (.com.au) allows some view of seat availibility. Probably won't give you anything cheaper though.
