YouTubers. Youtubers everywhere [Travel Bloggers]

I found this recent contribution interesting and informative.

Simon has been a fresh change from the "how I stuffed up my visa" or "wow, I got upgraded for no specific reason *wink*" clickbait from some travel tubers.

I like how he covers quite a lot of background and history of the subject while covering the story of his video.

Too many youtubers take forever to get to the point… stretching a 3 minute video to 23… or longer.

Flight formula on the other hand I rarely fast forward.

Could not agree more. The point of his videos is less the actual flight and more the background / history behind some topic that I've never thought of before.

It's interesting that musicians make SFA for specifically-requested streams on Spotify and yet youtubers seem to make worthwhile money uploading content that many don't specifically go looking for and just randomly stumble or scroll across.

Longer videos are associated with higher engagement and monetization potential
Depends on the content! Most people these days want short, sharp and fast, not long, repetitive and boring.

Those very, very, very long vlogs on the Air India accident by those two guys were excruciatingly boring… endless minutes without any new information.

YTubers can also monetize shorts. However Shorts can not be longer than, I think, 3 minutes.
I dont think airline YTubers can keep their content to that short length.
I’m guessing the monetising is coming from the number of viewers that make it to the advertisements? If everyone fast forwards or clicks out before you get to those, no money?

Many youtubers are also sponsored by VPNs. I guess the trick there is to make the advertisement long enough that even as you’re fast forwarding you see the product name!
