I've often thought about that. Given the more common likely scenario of very little income being generated by the vids, is it possible to offset the expenses against other income?

Yup. It's why negative gearing of houses is so popular; this is basically negative gearing of travel. Mind you, you do need to earn (or genuinely attempt to earn) some income from it.

Yes, but negative gearing only works when you’ve got positive income to offset it against. Otherwise, if he’s a company he’ll just carry losses forward but it’s still big cash out the door.

I don’t know maybe if he’s got some sort of travel business under the same umbrella he could offset it that way

I really overlooked a pretty solid watch that I fo watch frequently, and that’s Stefan Drury. He does some good work with considered pacing. I suspect he lurks these forums too. Smarter traveller and enthusiastic.

I’ve been watching flight Formula and loving it. Solid suggestion but while it’s 90% better than most of the flight travels. There’s moments of immaturity that while ads a bit of fun can be a bit jarring.

Honestly at this point I think Josh’s only claim to fame is who he is in conflict with. Mon-Stop Dan recently had a clash with a crew, and he showed far more grace in handling the conflict than Josh’s petrol on the fire approach.

The worst reviews have to be from Josh Cahill though

With all this recent talk about Russia etc, I was curious about Aeroflot and how they are in 2025, begrudgingly I found and clicked on a Josh Cahill video as that appeared to be the only credible one.

Less than 1min in and he narrates / introduces "I'm Josh Cahill, a multi-award winning aviation Youtuber with 500m views".

As soon as I heard that, I turned off - What (still) an absolute narcissistic loser.

I've gotta say - talking to yourself on camera is harder than I thought! Shot some footage when I was on a trip to Singapore a few weeks back, expect some real effort to edit and pull together into cohesive content - maybe I'll post after a few more travels. Everyone wants to be a travel blogger, right?

Australia is a bit of a niche market when it comes to creating, so it's great to get some local support wherever possible.

Thanks for posting your channel. Only looking at the graphics per video, do you only use/review big/mega cruise ships? None of the smaller, sub 300 types, or expedition-type ones? Going on a large cruise ship I think is a fate worse than death (I did AFF on Princess - company was good, rest of the experience was carp).
