Anecdotal ...

Right, well could just as easily be because he’s a known figure (safe bet there are some F1 fans in QF management) and/or know he has made somewhat favourable reviews of QF in the past. Or perhaps his P1 wife has some pull…

Or perhaps he is P1 now - or even CL. It’s anybody’s guess.

or even CL

Kym says in the video it was an invitation so I don't think he's CL.

CL invites for P1 were a thing for a while last year, then seemingly disappeared, but have definitely come back in the last month of two with several reports on Facebook P1 groups.

You could be right but I’m just saying it’s a big assumption.

We might find out in future videos. He’s not hidden his WP status earlier and even shown his WP card on camera, so I’m assuming he won’t hide his P1 status.

In fact now I think about it he once got access to QF F lounge in LAX flying AF, I always thought that was really weird and assumed someone in the lounge must have liked him.

May have mentioned previously but I find this channel very interesting about places it is unlikely I will visit. Latest series started recently with a trip on the silk road, initially through western China. Latest offering ...

May be more frequent now although not from invites following the data breach /jk

I enjoy Kelsey (74gear)'s videos even with the sporadic uploads.

Kim Illman is a solid watch for his travel vlogs between F1 races but his reputation in the F1 fan forums as a clickbaity paparazzo is well earned (and if you remember his ambush marketing in the 80's and 90's at Subiaco oval he's a one trick pony).

But I agree with all here that Noel Philips is a clueless Pom whose only research I've found him actually do is being able to do a transit in China between terminals after c19 without visa. Every other time I've seen him do things which are basic errors for new travelers and he's never gotten past that mindset even with all of the travel he takes.

I reckon it's a tough gig full time - finding the balance between entertainment and information, having an angle, consistency, and all the travel and editing these bloggers do. Plus trying to build and maintain an audience that allows for monetisation of the whole thing.

I've noticed changes in different vloggers content and approaches the past few months, wonder if it's losing appeal to YouTube audiences more generally. My stream of recommended content has been drying up too.

Actually planning to slowly enter this space myself, though no illusions about making money - just driven to building a purpose to/ for travel and sharing my excitement and experiences.

I’m in that boat… the vlogs these days are just getting too long… regularly approaching 30 mins. And most of it is repetition, or labouring endlessly on the same point. Nonstop Dan was recently in trouble for filming on a kuwait airways flight, and the third video in the series was an apology from the ceo of kuwait airways. Despite Dan saying he’d keep the video short, it was 10 mins before he even got to the main subject.

Just about the only vlogger with solid content filling up the whole video is flightformula.

Interesting you say this! While generally a fan, and like the general airline industry info, I find recent videos have been meandering to much and he's lost focus.
lol. yes. i just watched his Gibraltar vlog and it was… err.. meandering. But that’s sort of unusual for him.
