Meeting Randy Peterson,
Oz Fest in Melbourne.

Trying to deal with PC to get all the points that are owed,
Hilton on the Park during Oz Fest,
Sydney International arrivals,
Perth domestic airport,
Working with some slack and idle wingers at work.

Highlights:

New York City- vibrant, amazing, energetic!!!

Petting Tigers with the Monks in Thailand

Riding an Elephant and almost not having kids after a baby elephant massage to the groin region in Thailand.

Mount Titlis as we rose through the heavy clouds and fog to the highest point in Central Switzerland and then enjoying the looks on my ex-girlfriend family's face as they played in snow for the first time.

Tubing behind a boat in Arnhem Land when the fish weren't biting.

My first business class experience.

Getting accepted today to study in Montreal next year so now knowing I will definitely get to book the DONE4.

Lowlights:

Coming home from each trip.

Being delayed in BKK after our Jetstar aircraft went AWOL in HNL. Then getting home and waiting four hours in MEL for a QF MEL-BNE flight.

Not sitting next to Scarlett Johannsen on any of my flights.... Or Jen Hawkins for that matter.

littl_flier,

Congratulations also. I missed it the first time around.

Highs:
  • The spectacular collapse of the private equity buy out deal for QF especially after the sickeningly smug endorsements from Dixon and Jackson
  • The Chateau Beycheville 1996 red in BA F travelling SYD-LHR-SYD
  • Visiting the new SYD F lounge a couple of times
  • A couple of unexpected complimentary on departure upgrades on domestic flights thanks to local QF staff
  • Flying F to the UK on frequent flyer points
  • The OneWorld computer systems awarding me points and SCs for flights I never ended up taking
  • Most QF cabin crew maintaining a welcoming and professional presence (despite the public longue lashings from Geoff et al)
Lows:
  • QF stuffing up a DONE4 booking
  • Departing on Europe bound flights from LHR T4 (priority line and F lounge not open first thing in the morning)
  • Increased price gouging (credit card fees, fees to change paid flexible J flights, etc) by QF
  • The time and expense of travelling to BNE twice (for meetings and looking for rental properties) to secure a contract deal, which fell over at the last minute due to instransigent client lawyers after a "hand shake" deal had already been struck
  • Not sitting next to anyone remotely in the league of Scarlett J
  • Missy H officially "coming out"

Highs:
  • LHR - MEL upgrade to F.
  • Making Plat status 7 days before the upgrade and talking my way into the LGW First Lounge without the correct card.
  • Making it cross country in one day from YYJ - SEA - ORD - RDU and making it in time for the last 10 minutes of NC State vs. UNC. Go State!
  • G & T's on the top floor of St. Mary's Axe with a great long term mate.
  • Cairns and that reef!
  • The beer pouring machine in NRT JL Sakura Lounge
Lows:
  • Missing Dad's 68th Birthday.
  • CX J - Just not as good as I had been led to believe.
  • AA Domestic F/J ........ enough has been said about this already.
  • Perth Airport - Domestic to International
  • The battery life on my blackberry.
  • MIA
Thanks to all here, your advice and tips are gold.

Take care in 2008.

  • The beer pouring machine in NRT JL Sakura Lounge
UA lounge also has these great beer machines, they may be putting them thru all the Lounges in T1 and T2
