JNB 2019 last international trip and last flight on a Qantas 747. Boarding from a remote stand due to late arrival. A blessing in some ways being able to take in the sheer size and majesty of the Jumbo.

That was the jetty and our boat to here to go chimp watching in Mahale Mts NP.

(I haven't gone OT - the bird is visible parked up at the Mahale strip.)

After a couple of nights at Greystoke Camp and a visit to the distant rellies, it was back to Mahale, to haul out over Greystoke en route Mzuzu in Malawi. The ATC's kids at Mzuzu were impressed with the bird.



Those windscreen washer kids rock up everywhere. And, if really needed. The back bulkhead seats were not part of the pax complement and there was a curtain between the last row of pax seats and those.

bigal and my first overseas holiday together. Freedom Air from Brisbane to Wellington

the following year we flew to Vancouver then cruised Alaska then across to and around Hawaii.

Light plane flight from Kailua Kona around the big island. I am not a fan of single engine small planes...





The USA for a month the following year. Concorde and behind it a ship we have since come to know very well

Hoover Dam on our trip to the Grand Canyon from Vegas, before they built the bridge



No plane shots for some reason from the next couple of years but a couple from a trip to Shanghai where we took a cruise back to Singapore
