Despite getting a lot of cough for a range of things (cup noodles etc), good on them.

The network right now is quite extensive especially compared to lots of other domestic carriers around the world:

and for many who convinced themselves back in April/May that VA would be dead, it's been a pleasant suprise that they've survived and next week have come out the other side with new owners.

Need to get those lounges open like yesterday, re-engage with frequents and corporates who are close to or have already abandoned them for Qantas. Should have been happening a few weeks ago at least.

The ad looks like something that Godfrey's Virgin Blue would put out in the media, rather than the 'slick' and 'polished' ads that Borghetti's Virgin Australia would put out.

Going by that message, it seems the light hearted/'fun' theme tells that VA mk 2's main clientele is of the Budget (Small/Medium) Business Travellers, Tourists and Young Families. So basically the VFR/Low Yield for the Y seats and Small/Medium Business crowd for the J seats.

I like that they are going back down the light hearted/fun route - as long as their new product is not ultra low cost. I think VA should be focusing on what Virgin is - fun, glamorous and yet professional. It's the main reason I fly Virgin over Qantas.

I'm about to book some flights for Feb, Canberra to Sydney return. Sure hope the lounges are open as I got Gold back by emailing them and showing them all my cancelled flights that would have got me back. It was great of them to give it to me even though I couldn't fly so would like to get the actual perks.

Just watched the video. Last thing I want to see on the concourse! Then again I'm Qantas all the way, mostly unless it's EK. Anecdotally once asked for brandy on an EK flight. Should have known better. Sorry sir, no brandy, will cognac do? I'll say!!

Ugh, what have they done. Got an email from them about the ad today, saw it; nowhere near as creative as their previous campaigns. Even the flying toupee was better.

This was just cringe.
