Hi,

Am not sure if anyone with EF can check on this for me? I'm looking at a BNE-LAX return trip, leaving BNE on 29 Sept and leaving LAX on 8 Oct. Y+ is showing as available on QF15/16 on these dates.
Can anyone tell if Y+ is currently planned to be rows 23 & 24 of the 2 class 747?
If so, I'll forego extra SCs of flying via SYD for the nice seats. If not, I might go via SYD on the way over, but want to get back as directly as possible, as I'll be arriving in on my daughter's birthday.

As a side note, am planning that this trip will also involve Seattle, but am thinking of trying to book YUPs with AA, rather than as part of the QF itinerary. Of course, my status year finishes on 30 Sept, but I wouldn't be heading to Seattle until somewhere betwen 3-5 Oct, so all YUP SCs would be in the new status year.

Thanks!

A useful tip on how to check seat maps online without resorting to paid subscriptions to Expert Flyer et al....

  • Go to www.expedia.com (make sure it is the US site)
  • Find your specific flight on Expedia.
  • Hit the "Preview Seat Availability" button and you should get a seat map with the taken and available seats.
...

Note, seats in economy, business and first cabins can be previewed, but premium economy may be excluded. You can still work out the configuration from the row numbers (i.e. no Business class for rows 29 or 30 on pacific configuration)

Lovely, thanks Serfty! :)
Business seems to be only going to row 18, and economy starting at 26 ...

I have checked the seat map on those dates and Premium Economy at the moment are rows 23 and 24 in 2/3/2 configuration which indicates Skybeds to me.
