xONEx taxes

Thanks, Serfty. Most interesting. Still need to get onto my dummy LONE4 booking on the OW tool and break that out.

In your re-listing of the taxes, the LONE4 & DONE4 was transposed.

I still can't figure how it equates to the tax charged. Are the individual coded taxes in real money? If so, are they country-specific currency? Here's the totals of the numeric values in the lists:

DONE4: 428.79 (Tax charged was $A1175.69)

LONE4: 336.33 (Tax charged was $A748.63)

Here's what's printed on the E-ticket itinerary & receipt for the LONE4 and DONE4 as issued from the assisted booking at QF:

LONE4: JFK4.5XT12.60YQ83.40YR3.88QR36.97WY47.00AU3.38QR3.00WG5.70YC5.20XA7.30XY10.40AY19.90GB74.30UB18.80JD5

DONE4:
JFK4.5XT11.70YQ156.10YR3.88QR36.66WY47.00AU3.39QR4.46WG5.40YC4.90XA6.80XY10.00AY37.80GB70.60UB25.60JD7

Looks like voodoo to me:confused:.

Haven't tried the breakout on the OW tool but thanks for the tip on the hotlink.

In this bit not all taxes are included. Not nearly enough for a RTW ticket. Can you expand more?

That's all that is listed on the E-ticket itinerary & receipt.

After the fare cost the on-costs are described as 'Charges/taxes' where the $A total is given. Below that is printed the string of values I've listed.

I just opened the LONE4 booking on the OW tool and went through to the payment page. Here's the tax listing:

This total of $1135.89 (24 listed items) compares with $748.63 (15 listed items)through Q Travel.

I'm  but PartnerJohnM's daughter is .

Sorry about the formatting, but tables go to pieces once inserted here. (Mod.: what's the best way to insert tables?)

I have not reversed the L/DONE4 charges; The $156.10 YQ applies to the DONE4.

If there is only the one person on each booking you can try this:

Plug the Qantas PNR (Booking reference) and PAX surname (one at a time) into:
If it works it will bring up the complete list of

.

Serfty, is there anything that you DON'T know?!

That LAN link is very handy.

It is clear from that LAN listing that the printed QF E-ticket receipt doesn't list all the taxes.

Why is it available in such detail through LAN?

LAN use the same GDS for ticketing as Qantas (Amadeus). They have that e-ticket print available for their own ticket numbers, but use of other ticketing airline PNRs when there is only one PAX booked may sometimes work.

Here's the actual tax ($748.63) listing obtained from the LAN link:

YR 25.00 AUD
 YQ 337.40 AUD
 YQ 12.60 AUD
 YR 83.40 AUD

 MA 10.60 AUD

 HK 16.10 AUD
 XF 4.70 AUD

A large part of it is the miscellaneous YQ code used by QF (on my DONE4 the YQ is $668, explaining most of the LONE4/DONE4 tax difference).

Comparing what QF charged for the LONE4 and what the OW tool would have charged, the bulk of the difference is in the YQ code.

Looking across the DONE4 and OW LONE4 comparisons to the paid LONE4 makes me think that PartnerJohnM's daughter may have been the recipient of a fortuitous error:cool:.

Thanks for explaining that I need to paste a table within the quote field to avoid it losing formatting.
