    Re: wp+ award flite

If you book an award flight, then you can't normally upgrade by cash or additional points etc (unless you cancel the award ticket and get another award ticket for the cabin you want).

How many points are you short? You might be able to purchase them or find a cheap way of obtaining them.

BA could possibly have "pay for upgrade" at the gate or checkin, but these types of paid upgrades are pretty rare.

You can , subject to space, upgrade onboard for GBP200 . Just ask for the CSD when you board and let him/her know that you wish to purchase an upgrade to WT+

If you have lounge access, just before heading to the aeroplane, ask whether WT+ has any empty seats.

Thank you for the info. I do have club access so will try method you advised Dave. Seeing as it's a flight to lhr, I doubt if there would be any spare seats but one can only hope.

It might be worth keeping an eye on expertflyer (if you dont have a user name people here will always post updates for you though it would easier for you to do it yourself)

Keep in mind that onboard upgrades don't change the amount of FF points/SC's earnt on a flight from the original booked class. Not applicable in your case for this journey, but something to keep in mind for the future.
