WP treatment in Y

Just to go with the consistency no greeting on QF006 in premium economy last night.

Handed an incoming arrivals card and an express card. It was a full flight so I guess the lack of greeting could be expected.

I know a lot of people complain about the overnight flights back from Asia, and I've had two very ordinary QF30 HKG-MEL flights, but I did QF130 PVG-SYD recently and I have to say service was fantastic. CSM even came up to me pre-takeoff to inform me that the front 4 in Y was empty and suggested I move there to take advantage of the space before a non-status pax did. Was provided with immigration and express pathway cards along with amenity kit and pyjamas. Good service continued throughout the flight and a few surrounding pax had the 'who is he' look once I returned from the toilets with the pyjamas on.

It seems the WP treatment happens a lot more on on INT flights rather than domestic.
I fly regularly b/w Mel-Syd-Bris-Adel and very rarely get any special treatment, regardless of Y seat. No problem with this I might add, but always nice to get some recognition for my loyalty to QF. Last INT flight from SIN-MEL in Y received a nice glass of J Champagne and some J headsets. Thanks QF.

same here! last international flight I also received a glass of J champagne.

only problem, I was in First Class.

NO thanks QF!!

(crew should really cease this practice of handing out consumables such as champagne to pax in classes not entitled to them. headsets or newspapers I can understand... first and business class pax already have theirs and any left over is fair game but champagne and food? not so sure.)

I did a few Y trips on QF 23/24 SYD-BKK-SYD.
The CSM always came up to me with a personal greeting, asking if there's anything they can do. I didn't get an amenity kit or pyjamas handed over (though didn't ask either) but on the QF23 day-flight I got handed over a set of noise-cancelling headphones. Express passes were handed over in all cases. The flights were all full due to school holiday season - so no WP shadow whatsoever.

Made WP at the end of May and will be experiencing my first DOM Y as a WP in a couple of weeks and my first INT Y as WP in November. Will see if there is any special treatment offered...

Got the WP treatment yesterday and not even a WP!!

Double celebration yesterday, my wife's birthday and CSM Patrick Ryan greeted her with happy birthday on entering the plane... this flight finally qualified me for SG..at last after 22 years as a FF original member!!! (Thanks to AFF advice here!)
Later came up to our seats...(Exit row with middle seat shadowed at T-80!).. with 2 bottles of champagne for us. Wife thought I had planned it all but assured her it was all QF.

Great to have such good service..well done Patrick and crew.

Congratulations on your wife's bday and on reaching SG!!

Great treatment by QF. May I ask which flight were you on?

i disagree. a full flight should make no difference.

flew CX last week on a short 3hr30min flight... absolutely packed international 4 class 777, with premium economy seating sold as Y available for CX diamonds and golds (and oneworld gold if you beg)... in the premium economy cabin all diamonds were personally welcomed and given a bottle of water. all golds and OWS welcomed by separate crew member (no bottle of water). CSM also came to see CX diamonds. this was before the full lunch service with pre-meal drinks. if it can be done on a flight that short it can be done by any airline if they want to.

I agree that it is inconsistent but in their defence the flight was full and only 6h 30m which is short for that route.

My experience with CX recently was not that good.

MH is not much better and I am greeted occasionally with request for drink order. If I am turning around with the same crew they are much friendlier second time around but still hit and miss with greetings.

which is exactly my point... cx had three hours less to do a complete meet and greet! and arguably, a shorter time before meal service in which is was competed! (given qf takes a long time to get meals out)

That was your experience with CX.

My experience with CX in recent times was not that good for personal greetings regardless of the length of flight.

I think there is inconsistency with all airlines and it is unfair to blame QF for not receiving a personal greeting all the time.

but you're not a cx diamond or gold? CXs own elites all got welcomed. as a OWS I don't always get a greeting on cx either.

Just flew QF97 in Y and got a personal greeting from the CSS (Terrence), a continuous flow of J wine and a set of J headphones along with the 'anything else you need, just ask'. This was all very unexpected. Is it normal for SG to receive this treatment?

no

even very unusual for WP these days.

And regarding CX or KA, i have been greeted EVERY flight i have taken with them, and thats about 10 flights in the last 12 months.

Thanks, I thought that was the case. The flight was not very busy at all so that may explain why I received the extra treatment. Anyway, it made that particular flight more pleasant so all good :).

I'm keen to pass this example on to the team and would appreciate a private message with the flight details for reference.
