I am about to tick over WP for another year, sitting on 1150 with 120 more to post any day now.
this will be my 5th year in a row, and I owe it all to the great folk here on AFF.
Who knows how long I can continue to party like this, but I have enjoyed the ride so far, and managing to achieve it with 7 months to spare,"who'd a thunk it" ? lol

Nice work. Keep this going and it won’t be long before you’ll get LTG.

I’m a bit behind you. I got WP in 2016 and have retained it twice already and am working my way towards LTS.

I couldn’t have done it without the advice on AFF either.

LTG (at my current pace) is about 2-3 years away. however there might be a travel hiatus in the offing :-(

The tag team lives…

I have a snowball's chance in a hot place of ever holding decent status.
Occasional gold but then slam bam back to the bronze age.
Harvesting points is conceptually useful until one hits the status barrier.

This is arguably the way the system should work ,rewarding daily warriors so I am not complaining.

One must fly frequently or pay more .. I'm paying more...

Gold gets you decent classic award seat availability. So an effective & relatively economic strategy can be to get Gold then fly on points and drop back down and when you can level up again and repeat.

I'm hoping to get to LTG so I won't have to worry about status anymore and can fly whoever it suits me internationally, try to get classic reward seats on QF when they're released (before Silver and Bronze get their pick) and know I've got a decent chance of getting an upgrade if I'm flexible with when I fly.

At the moment I'm earning points faster than I'm burning them, but I expect that will change.

I was politely reminded today that AFF in and of itself isn't entirely responsible for my success. Mrs GPH has been tireless in her efforts to ensure we both are high status flyers , she has been assiduous in her efforts to extract maximum benefit from all of our flying / travel plans, and so " I dips me Lid" (somewhat belatedly) in her direction .

Oops. Hell hath no fury like .........

Similar story to GPH. Thought the gravy train had derailed when they "enhanced" SCs on JASAs. Thanks to the myriad of tips and tricks learned though studying the forums, I've been able to hold WP for 5 years now with enough SCs to qualify till Aug 2019. Couldn't have done it without AFF and it's members.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

....yes it is. Now who will I gift the Complimentary Gold Membership and Platinum Membership to next year? LOL.

Don’t get mad, get even.

So I’m going to P1 myself shortly!
You made it clear you were on a mission when I first met you.

Well done ! (In advance as I have no doubt P1 will happen ;) .)

Ha ha. I never really gave P1 a thought until last week, when I realised how close I am

I have too many expenses with the MG.
It would be nice to have a P1n the family.
