I have done this on a Karachi Dubai flight (in business class) in the 90's!!! It was huge, intimidating and sat on the arm of the guy next to me. Although it was hooded it kept turning toward me and scared the cough out of me. On the plus side it became less intimidating the more champagne I drank, and it gave me great travel story.
