Veuve is indeed overrated.Whilst I like a Veuve Clicquot, I find most champagnes overrated. Many of the good Tasmanian sparkling wines are much better. Give me one of those in a glass please. Keep your plastic and your champagne!

But … beer is like champagne, for those who actually like it … if it has actual flavour, it shouldn’t be close to zero degrees C. Stuff like VB, xx_X et al need to be close to zero so you can’t taste it, but proper beer needs to be at the sorts of temps British pubs have in their cellars.Beer in a cold can is fine (preferably not frozen as AA once served up In J though)

Proper beer needs to be served from a wooden barrel, preferably in Munich or the Zcech republic. Everything else is washing up water.proper beer needs to be at the sorts of temps British pubs have in their cellars.

Traditional German or Czech beer is … OK. But nothing special. It’s when they get progressive that things get tasty, but Straya and France (from recent first-hand experience) and yes the USA (despite the reputation caused by their volume beers) can do at least as well.Proper beer needs to be served from a wooden barrel, preferably in Munich or the Zcech republic. Actually they do OK for relatively a high-volume brewery. Way better than the Tooheys, Carlton, xx_X etc similar-volume chemical dishwater churned-out here!lol this was a Sam Adams
