Actually, when I'm travelling I have both GPS and a map or road atlas. I like being able to see the landscape and how the roads and rivers and towns are arranged.I use a map to get the "big picture" planning between towns on long distance trips
If I have a GPS, it's fine for telling me when to turn and what lane to be in, but I'll arrive at some place with only the foggiest notion of how I got there and whether I might have taken a more scenic/historic/convenient route.
