Would you book SQ through Trip.com?

I'm looking at a short flight KUL-SIN on Google Flights and Trip.com is showing the flight as $68 less than booking direct with SQ.

I understand that Trip.com is an OTA.

Do you think it's risky booking through Trip.com instead of direct with SQ to save a few $?

Curious to know what the experienced SQ flyers think.

Would I ever book any SQ flt through Trip rather than SQ to save a few bucks? NEVER - but what is definition of a FEW bucks? Anyways you can always take advantage of SQ Price Match Guarantee. (Nope never tried it as never had to)

I’ve used trip.com for some internal China flights that I couldn’t book elsewhere (they are part of ctrip- one of China’s biggest OTAs and rebranded - outside of China’s - as Trip.com). Had no problems and wouldn’t hesitate to use them for a simple one way booking like this, especially on such a route.

if you are game also have a look at kayak.es, for some bizarre reason they seem to link to Spanish websites that have flights for this specific sector that are cheaper again. With a bit of help from Google translate we’ve booked KUL-SiN on this route a couple of times via kayak.es. Once on Jetstar for $50 less than what Jetstar site had it. All went without a hitch.

I wondered if they had a price match guarantee. I guess that involves calling them and providing evidence of a cheaper fare?

The link provided by CE contains the process. Book with SQ first, submit evidence via electronic claim form. Must be done within two hours of booking on SQ’s site.

The guarantee at that link will not be applicable to OP as the price beat fare must be provided by ATAS accredited agent (trip.com doesn't seem to be), and Qualifying fare is:

Qualifying Airfare Purchase
“Qualifying Airfare Purchase” means:

(a) a Singapore Airlines issued ticket (618) for travel originating from Adelaide (ADL); Brisbane (BNE); Cairns (CNS); Canberra (CBR); Darwin (DRW); Melbourne (MEL); Perth (PER); or Sydney (SYD), wholly on Singapore Airlines Group-operated flights (i.e. Singapore Airlines, SilkAir or Scoot operated flights with ticket numbers beginning 618)
