Worst Qantas lounges

I think most Qantas lounges are ok but maybe LST, BME etc are borderline ok. Better than terminal anyway.

When one visits the dire European lounges(not just for Qantas, but overall), you'll appreciate even the saddest Qantas lounge in the network. Rome has particularly bad ones, but many other lounges compete!
I remember visiting a lounge in GVA ~10 years ago. Size of a shoe box. Awful.

KTA is the worst but only just a whisker in front of HBA.
The QP at the the old ADL airport was pretty dire too.

LST and HBA not great....I think QFi MEL is the worst though - especially if it's a leisure trip with the family. For my family the lounge forms an important part of the beginning of the holiday and that crowded dungeon is always a bit of a disappointment.....

Yes, some lounges are 'better' than others. I haven't been to many of the regional lounges mentioned up-thread, but concur (in general) with the 'any lounge is better than no lounge' viewpoint. I'm sure there is an exception or two out there but I'm yet to encounter one. HBA would probably be the least desirable domestic QF lounge I've been in, but it is infinitely better than waiting outside.

As a HBA local/regular, I definitely disagree with the last bit there :) . If the lounge is crowded, I usually choose to find a seat outside; there is usually an isolated seat somewhere, often at a table.

And you can use the voucher they give you to buy a better glass of sparkling than you'd find in the lounge ;)

I don't really know much about QF on the international front but I'm putting votes in for PER and AKL (F lounge).

I also think the international QF lounge in PER is particularly depressing. Crowded, terrible food, no windows or natural light and just a big box of a room.

ROK is terrible, but that's largely due to the cheap contractors QF use up there. I've lost track of the number of times the fridge has been empty and then every hour or so someone throws a six pack in it.

Also lost count of the number of times I've walked in and found the baggage handlers kicking back snoozing or hitting the pretzel mix

As of a couple of years ago, QF required the the baggage handlers to restock the QP as part of their position description. Weird, but ok they want to save $. I don't mind ROK. What grates me is the filthy pigs who can't clear their table by walking to the bin. I have an impressive photo somewhere that shows the state of the lounge after it was trashed by 'adult' pax. Not to mention the pilfering jockey that loaded several packets and bottles of everything into his hand luggage. He finished a local race meeting and must've been trying to make weight again.
