Worldwide lounge access for QP member - figuring it all out

I had to sit and wait in the zoo as you call it for 3 hours waiting for my connection....

I have waited in the terminal on more than one occassion. With no lounge access it was necessary due to unsuitable flight times.

The most memorable one is getting to ATH at 3:00am after a 6 hour bus trip and waiting until 8:00am for a TWA flight to JFK and then a DL flight to CVG. Flight was diverted to LHR shortly after takeoff and after a 3 hour wait in the aircraft arrived at JFK around 9:00pm and missed my connection. Finally out of JFK around midnight and put up in a motel for a few hours only to return early next morning for 6:00am flight to CVG. Luggage was also ripped/slashed en route ATH-JFK which added to delay at JFK.

Another time had early morning departure from ATH-SYD on Olympic and got to ATH at around 11:00pm the night before on the last flight of the night SKG-ATH. Sitting around in terminal until checkin opened at 5:00am but lucky we were classed as connecting passengers and were allowed to checkin before anyone else.

JohnK, you definitely win this one. I thankfully have never had those sorts of terminal waits and yet you still love flying:!:
