Yes indeed, thank you for pointing that out.

So, on a $100 card you get 1,000 WOW points, or $5, after paying a fee of $5.95! Tell 'em they're dreaming! (The $50 cards are even worse.)

Of course, you could convert your 1,000 WOW points to 500 QF; they're still dreaming!

As discussed upthread

1000 WOW=500 QF
Platinum Edge 315 MR=157 VA/CX/Avios/QF

Use it somewhere that otherwise charges a surcharge/doesn't pay CC FF points

I find the biggest time wasted is going to stores with no stock which is usually not a problem with this type of offer.

Redemption online at the big government shop is pretty quick using phone scanning feature

Pretty viable (if not awesome) IMO

Also useful for Points Club qualification

While all valid points (pardon the pun), I'll wait until there is a 20x points offer. While YMMV, I don't need QF points that badly for me to take up this offer.

Gift $100s bought today are being declined tonight at my local council (bpoint), post billpay, and post billpay via paypal with "Decline Code 03 - Invalid Merchant".

Checking online, it does show there's an $100 balance, though it does say 'pending'. Will be a real pain if these can't be used for the intended online payments. Will try again in the morning.
About 36 hours later, glad to report all cards now working at post bill pay

Have never had an issue in the past using cards straight after activation. I usually like to do so just to reduce chance of hacking or misplacing them, but working after a while is better than not working at all, I guess.

For those considering the Apple Gift Cards via BigW for 20x EDR points... spotted via OzBargain that the Qantas Marketplace is currently selling Apple Digital Gift Cards with 10 QFF points per $ (i.e. same earn rate as EDR points converted to QFF points). Eliminates the risk of tampered gift cards and a good option for those who are converting to QFF points but aren't specifically seeking the EDR points to bank ahead of their next QFF member year.

With a QF credit card you may also get Qantas spend bonus. 2 QF is probably a reasonable swop for 3 MR on Edge

They also have the DAD gift card at 9ppd, if the shops work for you then they are also good.
