Yes, those sorts of things are probably quite good - especially if ultimately you buy something you need anyway! In the past, I’ve been put off the whole GC promos based on stories of hacked cards etc but will look more closely.

Are there any tricks or tips with these? Someone on another forum mentioned a 'trick' but the comment was subsequently deleted due to concerns about a potential loophole being closed. Happy to take a DM if not appropriate to post on the forum.

The only 'trick' I can think of is to use them (the Visa cards locked to specific merchant numbers) is perhaps to use them to buy discount giftcards on a site like cashback? I dunno what the CB merchant number is though.

I seem to recall some people avoiding the Home Improvement visa cards because of difficulty running them down completely. Is that the case? I plan to spend it at Bunnings - won't they split payment?

Would suggest using it to buy Bunnings vouchers-avoids the residual problem and the sums
