Woolworths eGift Cards

Just an FYI, in WA, many of the co-branded caltex/woolworths petrol stations often do not accept the e-gift cards (i.e. the ones where attendants wear blue shirts and/or has a starmart as opposed to a small "woolworths" branded kiosk with green shirted attendants).

This is the same in QLD too. (Probably all of Aus).

Given that you can pay your Woolworths credit card at Woolies, can you pay with a eGift card?. I'm guessing that would be too go to be true....

Not tried but imagine there would be the same blocks which prevent you getting cash out using a WISH

Got an email from entertainment book offering 7.5% discount on the BigW card... Sadly I believe this is actually restricted to BigW only

Yes, for once it appears they have actually applied the restrictions they have put in the T&C's, at least according to those who have tried and I trust what they do more than what they say!

I was at Woolies about an hour ago. Used one of the latest version of the 'card only' self-checkouts. Wanted to pay by e-giftcard but there's no such option on the screen!! It really is card only. The previous version of the 'card only' machine has the e-giftcard option. So let me try the 'cash and card' self-checkout next week and see what happens. Be warned!

You have to select the other payment option. A new screen pops up with the egiftcard option.

I only got two options on the screen. Full payment, or partial. Click the partial one and see what's in there. No dice.

On the same screen where you choose cash or card, there is an "other" option in small writing near the bottom of the screen.

There's no cash option. The self checkout has a sign that says 'card only'.

For a corporate they seem to have an extraordinary number of checkout software variations. I've seen at least 4 variations in last month-not including the one you describe
