I do not understand the need to divert. Is that the full story?

Can you imagine a seat mate singing at the top of their lungs, non-stop and not shutting up, for even a whole flight BNE-SYD? Would be pretty annoying at the very least, but suggests maybe she has a mental health condition and that could be a danger to other passengers or crew when the singing stops... if there's a chance to offload before continuing, might be a good idea.

Depends on the mood I was in.

But not long from now I think people are going to be begging to be sitting next to someone singing rather than someone texting or talking non stop on their gadgets.
