Seems those US Air Marshals aren't a complete waste of space after all:

An American Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a woman on board refused to stop singing Whitney Houston’s hit song 'I Will Always Love You'.
The unnamed woman was handcuffed and removed from the flight by air marshals after it was forced to divert to Kansas City Airport.

Heard the audio on radio a few minutes ago.....I wouldn't have waited until the plane came to a stop before pushing her out the door!

"No photos are allowed to be taken on the aircraft"??? IIRC cameras can still be used even when other electrical devices have to be turned off - and especially when at the gate with aircraft door open!! Or is there a crazy post-9/11 photo law that I'm not aware of?

(and I know in theory that you have to follow the directions of the crew, but they also can't give a direction outside of their authority (and if they do, it can be ignored))

Either way, this is one of the few times that I'd prefer electronic IFE over the live entertainment offering! :p

'no photos allowed to be taken' - they really talk a lot of rubbish these American flight attendants.

Just watched the video and also was surprised at the 'no photos' direction. I suspect the FA simply (for reasons I cannot fathom) decided it was 'inappropriate' and introduced an on-the-fly 'rule'.

And I agree, complete bollocks.

On the subject of the 'singer', it would have been a nightmare being on that plane with her.

Haven't read/watched this, but as stupid as it sounds wasn't there an earlier post about a United FA saying photography isn't allowed on their flights and says so in the inflight mag or something??

I guess as aggravating as this is it is a workplace owned by the airline, just like shopping centres and other workplaces can ban photography... Be a big disincentive for me to fly with such an uptight lot...

And while it isn't the absolute worst song, i could imagine if it was sung badly and/or repeatedlyyyyyyy it could get a bit intolerable... :)

Photos are allowed to be taken on the aircraft.

Unless of course they might embarrass the airline and go viral on the internet.

"But I'm shooting video!"

Didn't that airline blogger get kicked off an AA flight? Or maybe it was United. Mind you, he did say the "T" word.

"I Will Always Love You" is a beautiful song that unfortunately gets murdered too often at parties and karaoke bars around the globe by people who suffer the unfortunate malady of believing that alcohol will magically give them the vocal range of Whitney Houston.

On the other hand, a song like say "My Heart Will Go On" wasn't anything decent to start off with, and gets repeated wayyy too often to boot...

*ducks*

My only thought on the camera issue is more that most people these days assume a phone is a camera, and those can't be used at all times onboard an aircraft. Whereas a proper camera can be used for takeoff and landing. The safety card in Australia tells this story, I wonder if that's the same in LOTFAP?

The safety card tells a story on Some Qantas craft - I have yet to se the same story on the cards for any other airline.

So what she drunk or just out of control?

I do not understand the need to divert. Is that the full story?
