My family and I are about to travel overseas, visiting 8 different countries bordering the Indian Ocean. My questions are:
Are we better to take a Travelex card or to load up my Wizard Clear Advantage Mastercard?
What are the advantages/disadvantages of each?
Thank you for your help!

I don't know the ins and outs of the Wizard card, but having used Travelex Cash Passport card once, i'd never use it again.

The exchange rates are a complete ripoff, especially if you are for instance taking out US Dollars or Euro in a different currency, they screw you silly.

You're way better off using a credit/debit card which tend to be much more competitive on their exchange rates than those that Travelex choose to use.

Enjoy your trip.

Why or why would anyone use Travelex? I would avoid using them even if they were the last resort.

The current exchange rate for AUD is ~USD 75c. At the airport the other day Travelex were offering ~USD 69c + commission and if you purchased >AUD500 the commission was reduced. The spread offered by Travelex is ridiculous and then commission on top....

In Apr they were offering AUD ~ HKD5.1 when the actual rate was something like AUD ~ HKD6.
