Some great points from JohnK.

With the exception of the month I moved to Melbourne for a new job/life, I have always paid my CC balance off in full.

My move down here cost me in excess of $4K and would not of been possible without having a credit card.

That said, the extra 10K p.a of Salary makes it all worthwhile after a couple of months anyway. :D
