PS. The T&C's seem to state that QF SG can get into the SYD J Lounge
^Competition entry is open to Qantas Frequent Flyer members who are Australian residents (excluding NT), aged 18 years or older with a chip enabled Qantas Card, and who have access to the Sydney Qantas Business Lounge, ie - Qantas Platinum One, Platinum or Gold Frequent Flyer members or members travelling in Business to or from Sydney.

Anyone want to see if it's true?

I don't read it that way at all. The meaning to me is that the competition organisers believe that access to the J lounge is for Plat1, Plat and Gold FF and those travelling in J.
It would be correct if it had just mentioned WP1 and WP and those travelling in J.

Fair enough.

But in my opinion the specifics after the "i.e." contradict the conditions before it.

I'd suggest they're trying (badly) to describe that any member with a chip-enabled card who buys wine from the Enomatic (which is in the J lounge) is eligible? The SG bit is confusing as while you can't access the lounge as SG, you could be guested in or be flying J in which case I am sure they'll let you burn points on wine from the winemachine (a much better name than Enomatic IMHO).

Oh, I thought that was one of the big drawcards to Qantas Cash - ie anyone with a QFF account will be getting the chip enabled cards, regardless of if they want it or not. Whether QF have finished out the rollout by now is beyond me.

I don't know any different.

NB cards don't "expire" so no need to pusgh them out other than for qCash.

Either way, even if I was travelling through SYD in the promotion period I'd rather save my points

I thought the wines in there were all offered at the several thousand range... but 250 points does sound like an acceptable amount.

I seem to have noticed a significant increase in the points needed for the wine in the Sommelier Enomatic. Is that just me?
