Just a quick heads-up for folks on here - I have used Wilson Parking's Book A Bay three times in the last couple of weeks. I needed to park in Adelaide CBD and they're the most convenient car park for my work, plus I get a few Velocity points into the bargain. In all three cases, I booked the bay the night before and then entered the car park using the same credit card as ID at the entry / exit machines - as per the instructions on their website when the bookings were made.

I noticed today that for all three bookings, my credit card statement shows the $18 pre-booked fee on the day of the reservation AND an $18.22 fee (including credit card costs) charged on the following day when I actually used the car park. Clearly, Wilson's systems aren't working properly and I shall be claiming a refund. If you use WIlson parking book-a-bay, it's worth checking your credit card statements too......

Don't suppose you used Apple Pay or another type of mobile wallet at the car park? Such transactions are usually processed using a separate or tokenised credit card number that doesn't match the physical card, so if that's what happened, the car park would have no way of knowing that you were actually the same person who'd pre-paid for the space (barring the use of licence plate recognition).

I used a physical credit card - the same one I paid with during the online booking, and which I had ticked during the booking process as being the card I would be using as ID on entry. On that basis, and given that I'd followed their instructions (including compliance with the time-windows for entry and exit), it seemed likely to be a glitch at their end, and worth flagging.....

An update - to be fair to Wilson Parking, they asked for my credit card statements and then refunded the duplicate payments to my credit card within a couple of days. Whilst the fact that it happened repeatedly was (and remains) a worry, their recovery of my specific situation has been exemplary.
