[Mod hat]. Can we get back to the topic please?[/Mod hat]
But that outstation at SIN is likely shared with business customers, which is probably why it's better?Your entire argument is that every lounge at an airports main hub is flagship.
It is not, I’ve given multiple examples of why this is the case. QF SYD F is the pride and joy.
QRs FF lounges in DOH are rubbish. Their outstation at SIN is much better. AA Flagship at DFW is meh. BA F in LHR is IMO one of the worst F lounges in oneworld.

VA plat did used to be able to access the EY F lounge in AUHBut that outstation at SIN is likely shared with business customers, which is probably why it's better?
I don't really get your point, sure a first class lounge is better than a business class one, but I don't think that justifies the level of mediocrity of Qantas' J lounges in SYD and MEL (not to mention other cities).
Since this thread is about velocity, we are comparing within the context of velocity who do not have any first class lounges (I'm not sure they ever did?). So the question is, would the existence of international business lounges operated by VA make any difference in the value prop? My position and point is that it would make very little difference, considering Qantas J intl lounges are so bad, it's not really a major point of differentiation. F lounges do not come into this.
The internet forums / social media aren't exactly representative of the whole country as some may claim it to be. There's been some cases where the same rants across similar topics have ended up being a loud vocal minority as not all of the millions of members of both FF programs are actually active members and/or post on the internet platforms.
Also unexpected, apparently I have a platinum gift to share. If I gift that, after their platinum period, do they drop to gold, then silver etc as normal?
Can confirm it is a soft landing for gifted platinum. my giftee has done just that, dropping to gold, with only a few economy flights taken during the year.Re the topic question, initially I voted no as to retaining Gold (after dropping from platinum previously), but some unexpected travel has got me over the line and back to platinum before the October 1 deadline.
There would have been no way I'd have been able to upgrade post October 1, so I guess small win to be Platinum for another year before a soft landing to gold. Now to switch my focus onto Krisflyer, since most of my travel is international these days.
