Hi All

Used some QFF points to book some flights to Bali for the family on Jetstar. (I can hear people laughing now... but that's ok) In the current situation travelling overseas could be a risk. If I was to cancel the flights would the points be refunded or do they go down the gurgler?

Solution
Late to this thread, but I too had a points booking on JQ from Bali. Took a while to process the refund as Indonesia was the place of ticketing, but got full points back... probably more to do with COVID-19 than anything else though. I was expecting to lose 6k points per passenger.

You get your points and any co-payment returned, less a 6000 point cancellation fee. The cancellation fee applies per person.

Note that if you do not cancel at least the day before you commence travel, all points may be forfeited.

So, I booked a OWA RTW flight for two throught QF prior to the latest devaluation. My question is: Do i receive the pre devalued points less the 6000 points per pax fee or do i get the current points value for an equivalent booking? This is a rhetorical question, i think but it should be the amount of points required to book the same OWA trip when things become available. Am I being precious?

cancellation = refund of points paid, not current value.
