Hello Australian Frequent Flyers,

Will I make QFF Silver? Currently I am sitting on 225 status credits. My new year starts on 1 July. i.e. 30 June is the last day I have to get to 300 and get silver status.

1) I have a flight from Brisbane to London via Melbourne booked for 29 June (arriving 30 June). By my calculations this will net me 75 status credits and put me right on 300. Is getting to exactly 300 enough to get silver?

2) It usually takes a few days for points and status credits to turn up in my account. By that time it will be after 30 June and be into the new year. Will the points be credited to the year the flight was in or the year the points show up?

3) I have a Jetstar Jetflex ticket booked for early June. I have been unable to have my FF number put on the booking so I will only be able to claim status credits by sending in my boarding pass. Similar to above, are these credited when the flight was flown or when Qantas eventually gets around to processing the "manual" application? (presumably after 30 June)

Thanks!

  1. Exactly 300 is enough and your calculation are correct.
  2. The points (and SC’s) will post for the year/day they were flown in.
  3. Your Jetflex flight will retroactively be credited to this year (the previous year by then), and not the next year. So you will have to find another 250 SC next year to re-qualify.

Try again when you get to the airport (check-in or bag drop) and they should be able to add your QFF number. Then claim the points a few days after the flight just to help things along.
