Hello AFFers,

Your help would be greatly appreciated on this SC calculation:

I'd like your help in working out the status credits I will earn and if they'll be enough to get me to silver this year.... (I'm struggling with calculating BA status credits)

Missed by 20 SCs last year and would be able to add a flight or two if I was that close again - I'm already in the QC, I'd just like QF silver to help with seat reservation on Y flights....

I need 160 status credits more to make it, and my flights before my renewal date are:

1) LAX - SEA on American Airlines (operated by air alaska with AA reference)

2) SEA - BUR on American Airlines (operated by air alaska with AA reference)

3) LHR - MUC on British Airways (O fare)

4) MUC - LHR on British Airways (Q fare)

5) LHR - WAW on British Airways (Q fare)

6) TRO - OSL - LHR - MAN on British Airways (first sector is flying SAS) (L, O, Q, fares in order)

I could add WAW-LHR-BER on British Airways to help me get over the line.........

Thanks for your help!

  1. LAX-SEA = 15 SC
  2. SEA-BUR = 15 SC
  3. LHR-MUC = 10 SC
  4. MUC-LHR = 10 SC
  5. LHR-WAW = 15 SC
  6. TOS-OSL-LHR-MAN = 15 + 15 + 10 SC (for TRO did you mean Tromsø, as that’s TOS), however, SAS no longer earns so I’m not sure if this flight would or not.

All up that’s 105 SC, well short of your 160 needed. Additionally, WAW-LHR-BER would only get you another 25 SC, putting you 30 behind the goal still, assuming everything else credits (and I’m no expert on SAS or Alaska Airlines).

Thanks very much for that Sam....

I'm going to also fit a MAN-LHR-AGP on BA or Aer Lingus

What would be the lowest fare class that to earn those elusive 30 points for that routing?

Or is there a run that you could suggest departing and arriving same places? Travel must be all the same day as it's the last day before renewal....

Thank you ; )

That routing earns 25 SC in discount economy. You could forseeably book one or both legs in full economy, though that may be very expensive.

Perhaps you should be looking at upgrading a BA fare from discount economy to business, if they have offered you an upgrade at a lower price? I know I was offered some last year, but times may have changed.

Otherwise, when you’re woking out what you’re going to be earning, assuming the flights qualify per the T&C’s here, you should also look at Mileage Monkey, typing in your city codes into the "Oneworld Explorer Validator" and clicking ignore errors, before "Go!", scroll to the bottom and you’ll see what you earn in discount economy (double this figure for an economy ticket), business and first.
