I'm sure the answer is almost always "no" due to privacy concerns.
But are there any circumstances where an airline would give up this information (without a police request, etc).
Have not heard from my better half during their 8hr transfer at DXB, using "Dubai Connect" hotel service.
It's a little abnormal, but of course there are a tonne of very possible (non-sinister) reasons why this might be: lost phone, flat batteries, no signal, too tired... or maybe I'm just in the doghouse.
I'm not about to go calling the airline in a panic. But it just got me thinking, they must get this type of request a lot? Especially with unaccompanied minors.
Flights were booked using my FF points & my QF account. I guess I'll find out later today if they've made it to their onward flight and final destination.
