I took Singapore Airlines from Sydney to Singapore last week by using Velocity membership. After a week, still haven't seen the points to be added. Why takes so long? Many airlines can do it very quickly.

I see that this was your first post, so, welcome to AFF, @Ricky119 :) Have a great time.

Re : your question on delay in credit of points - When flying on a partner airline, there might (always have, in my case, at least) be a delay in getting the points & status credits credited.

I'm not in a position to offer a reason why there might be a delay, but I'd think that, it takes time for partner airline to send a notification of your travel to the airline whose FF member you are and things like that.

In my case, QF points usually take up to a week to land in my QFF account when I travel on partner airlines (MH, CX, UL)

Also, on the number of points & status credits - depends on the class of travel.

Also, retain your BP until all the points/credits have landed in your FF account. If they don't show up for some reason, your airline will ask you for evidence of travel.

1 week? Try 9 months to get some HX points to credit.
Yep, they are by far the slowest of VA partners to credit from experience. HU is nearly always 3-5 days but HX on the couple of times I’ve flown with them has been 3-4 weeks minimum. Never 9 months though!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I always get all my delta domestic flights velocity points well before I get the points for the virgin flight from SYD to LAX. Go figure!

SQ points for me are always quicker than VA points. Literally just got Europe return points posted less than 24 hours.

Just checking...when you say, "by using Velocity Membership", you mean just that you added your velocity number to the booking...or also that you booked the flight with velocity points?

We flew with Singapore last month and the points/SC landed the next day. The first flight was there by the time we got off the plane for the second flight on one of the legs.

Welcome to AFF @Ricky119 ...

Have you been waiting for points to be credited to your velocity account for travel on $$ purchased fares?

After calling VA, i know why points are not showing up. Because I used points plus pay, and I am not eligible to accumulate miles. Sounds a little bit unfair even Singapore Airline allows to earn points in proportion to the amount that I've paid with my credit card.

If you went into the booking via ***www.velocityfrequentflyer.com***, then no points accrued, as you will see in the price table, 100,000 points plus $ in taxes.
This is what they call a reward/award booking.
For that, I have learnt my lesson from past, "mistakes".
Have made this mistake, booked via the asterix way above, and was shocked to go into view my booking, to see, the dreaded words, "reward" in the view my booking inside my VFF account.
But if you do go into the booking via ***www.virginaustralia.com***, ignore points plus pay in that front page, but go and do all the required filling, and then at the payment stage, use points plus pay there, then you will get points accrual and VFF SC.

Virgin FF is a right mess.

Points never posted, did a missing points claim.

Points still aren't in my Virgin account and l did put my Virgin FF number in and was on my boarding pass. Virgin and Qantas points posting is like comparing Apples v Oranges.

VELOCITY POINTS AND STATUS CREDITS CANNOT BE EARNED ON: Any Singapore Airlines flight where KrisFlyer miles have been used as form of payment irrespective of the fare class flown.
While Singapore Airlines states For mix miles and cash bookings, the number of KrisFlyer miles, Elite miles and PPS Value you earn will be in proportion to the amount that you've paid with your credit/debit card (excluding taxes). If the full amount is paid with KrisFlyer miles, no KrisFlyer miles, Elite miles and PPS Value will be earned.
I think Singapore Airline's policy makes more sense. If passenger pays 90% of the ticket by cash, 10% by miles, if you use Velocity, you will lose the opportunity to accumulate any miles. That is unfair!
