hi
planning some work trips early next year and notice so many 737 on per to bne than i thought?
is this no longer a a330 all the time during the week route?
thanks
Also, in January, from Per-Syd on a Saturday nearly all flights were a 737, because I book to attend a 20/20 match in Sydney
Yeah, they often do that on weekends. One of the A330s is removed from trans-con service on weekends and sent to AKL. (Though I suspect they do this because the A330 isn't being used anyway, and not the other way around.)
Either way, it's annoying.

is this the seasonal Akl-per route or a TT route for the A330? I notice the seasonal route was only on the weekends.
Yes, I'm referring to the seasonal PER-AKL route that only operates on weekends. The aircraft used is an A330 that operates trans-continental flights during the week.
I wonder if QF could have created a subfleet of 737s with (world first?) lie-flat J seats, since the current seats simply aren't competitive on certain routes (e.g. PER-SIN and Jetconnect flights to NZ). It would also create some sort of product consistency with the 330s on East Coast-PER routes.
It seems that QF's trans-Tasman pax are very loyal as J always seem full to me (when I'm in Y or J) even with far superior J products from EK and LAN therefore I suspect QF don't feel like they need upgrade their Jetconnect birds. It wouldn't be a world first on a narrow body to have beds in the premium classes. I am sure QF have done the sums considering you'd lose some capacity on the subfleet and have decided it isn't viable.

True. The hard product is probably less important in a 3hr flight. It could be a case of preference of schedule over product here?
