Well SYD/MEL - KUL is consistent more expensive on MH than SYD/MEL - SIN on QF in Y.I dont think Qf can compete with Mh on this route...from a cost perspective.
Send the 321LRs to JQ and bring the 787-8s over to QF.I suspect its more of a network and fleet issue more than cost/revenue.

If Qf started flying Syd/Mel -Kul, Im sure Mh would drop its price.Well SYD/MEL - KUL is consistent more expensive on MH than SYD/MEL - SIN on QF in Y.

We often fly MH and SQ J to/from ADL with points but have emptied out my QFF points and closing the account so next couple of trips will be with SQ on VA points but hopefully some Avios redemptions on MH early next yearI often fly Syd-Sin-Kul on Sq award will fly Mh Syd-Kul if I can get it with pts![]()
Flew this in 1996 to attend a wedding.....booked through some discounted Asian TA, I did get it for $848 in YUntil around the turn of the century BA Flew LHR-KUL-SYD vv. before dropping the SYD legs.
There were some quite inexpensive fares around shortly beforehand..
Looking at an Oct 1996 timetable, Qantas flew:
QF31 SYD-KUL 1045-1620
QF32 KUL-SYD 2145-0910
and JQ’m just not sure it would be viable for QF
D7 provides stiff competition at the lower endNo competition for MH atm except for AK.
And I wonder how the prices compare for a return ticket purchased ex-Australia verses being purchased ex-Malaysia. Selling return fares from Australia to Malaysia to a mostly Australian demographic is likely priced higher than selling an Aussie holiday visit to a local Malaysian demographic ex-KUL.Well SYD/MEL - KUL is consistent more expensive on MH than SYD/MEL - SIN on QF in Y.

It was KUL-JNB-CPT-EZEDidn't MH used to do KUL-CPT-EZE?
That's a great route for many reasonsIt was KUL-JNB-CPT-EZE
