Why does the Qantas website block VPNs?

I have Nord and cannot sign in unless I pause it. So annoying

Nord is one of the ones that Qantas blocks but I’ve gotten rid of that now. I found that generally, the more known the VPN is, the more likely their servers get black listed.

Nord stops me getting on the Qantas lounge wifi also. Sooooo annoying

I find that it’s intermittent, my VPN is pretty much always on. However sometime the app works and sometimes it doesn’t and same when I log in to the website. I just put it down to “oh that’s just Qantas” lol.

And it probably is ...

@Berlin, just edited to add you after I saw your post above. Where did you have yours set to?

I can’t check anymore to be totally sure but I tend to switch locations a fair bit. I do remember struggling with Qantas sites on Australian, German and US servers, there will have been others but I wouldn’t remember for sure.

I now use Proton which still blocks Qantas sites if set to servers outside Australia but seems to work fine with the Australian ones.
