Wow.. It's gone from one of the best non AMEX cards to this!

the AFR have just published an article

Citi to exit Australian consumer banking

Any thoughts on whether the citibank name will continue or will our credit cards get transferred to a new banking provider?
The whole Citi portfolio will be sold to someone else who would likely rebrand everything. I can't imagine Citi would license their name out.

its not allowed by the admins here but here is the gist of it...

Citi’s consumer banking retreat includes all its consumer-focused operations including credit cards, loans, retail banking, wealth management for high-net-worth individuals and mortgages.

The Australian sale plans come as Citi reviews its retail banking operations in the region. The group has about 20 consumer banks globally, and a dozen are in the Asia Pacific region including Australia, South Korea and Thailand.

Should Citi find a buyer for its Australian consumer operations, it would leave the Wall Street bank focused on institutional banking and capital markets businesses, which include investment banking, capital markets and advisory, markets and securities trading, commercial banking and treasury services.

$279Annual card fee
Let's hope you got that card somehow fee free, otherwise the claim of "free" lounge visits comes with a pretty big caveat

Hahaha - the $279 is a bit stiff, I agree! Plus I've had to pay it for two years since Covid as I don't want to sit on a truck load of expirable points at SQ. Otherwise would have churned.

after closing my Westpac (maybe was STG) they have still sent the Priority Pass cards again at renewal, I got to use it once but then covid got in the way.

Hi all,

Still got a FFL Signature Visa card exp later in year( hopefully automatic renewal) and a 2022 physical Priority Pass card.

I have got the virtual Priority Pass card on the app as well and says valid to use

I'm told the CITIBANK went to Mastercard and that this has caused issues with PRIORITY PASS being valid..... as per this link: Citibank Premier Nee Signature Card and Priority Pass

Has anyone used their physical Priority Pass card with a Citibank Visa at airport without issue in 2022?
Did you contact Citibank or Priorty Pass.
To ensure active or is the app correct?
