Just an observation. Is anyone actually happy around here? Nearly every thread is whinging and moaning about something these days. This place used to be informative and friendly. Now it seems everyone just whinges and coughes.
I used to frequent here daily, now I'm lucky to even look at this site once a week if that. Have noticed a lot of regulars have disappeared last 6 mths or so as well
I don't think standing up for our rights, or seeking to hold a company accountable is necessarily whinging. It's a case of 'not sitting back and getting walked all over'.
The chauffeur drive is one example... it was first raised on here that adequate compensation should be miles, or first liunge passes. And that's how it turned out... eventually.
We we also took on the issue of family transfers into inactive accounts. And got a result there.
If we hadn't continued to put pressure regarding bookings ex Thaland/China/etc... how long before the issue would have been resovled?
We have also had several examples lately of services being cancelled or classes of service withdrawn. Sometimes with less than optimal alternatives offered. I think there is a case for collecting these examples for a potential EU type compensation regme. Either that, or airlines might decide to offer better compensation on their own first.
I think if an airline is asking us all to pull together, to accept changes need to be made to preserve the airline... then I think we can rightfully make a case that this should be in
partnership... not one way for an airline dictating the changes it wants, but not wanting to consider suggestions from passengers.
So First class is withdrawn from Hong Kong... why should we not suggest, as passengers, that former F class ticket holders retain their seats in the F cabin (but with business class service)? why shoud we have to not only accept a downgrade, but then lose the seats to status holders who may not even have booked yet?
