One of my bucket list items is to fly in F and that is possible next year as a classic award. So for those who have done it, should I do Perth-Dubai or Dubai-Perth or doesn't it matter ? A380 would be nice but I can't justify flying to Sydney/Melb just for that. Or maybe come Sept next year EK will be flying A380s out of Perth ?

and miss the Flounge in Mel or Syd? not sure how good perth facilities are but I am sure emirates Flounge in Dubai would be better.

Just a note. There 'maybe' some options soon over east from MEL or SYD to AKL on the EK A380. I'm hoping classic or ASA awards via EK become available across the Tasman soon with the QF tie up. I too are waiting for the Emirates A380 from Perth but for now - next Monday I'm doing AKL to MEL on an Emirates A380 in J to test it out even though I'm going to AKL from PER on Qantas initially (very cheap Y fare). A long way to go for a 4 hour J return flight but it is something different, and a change, from QF. It is not an award flight, at this stage, but cheap for a paid flight nonetheless IMO. 700 Aussie Pesos from AKL. F is around 1000 Aussie Bananas. If these flights become awards, I guess they'll be in 36000 and 54000 range respectively. If I like the J flight I may go F in a couple months. The flight timing from AKL to MEL is awesome for a few Champers or Bourbons on board.

Seeing the lounges would be pretty average in Perth (been in QFs but not EKs), if its means you get to try their F floor in DBX (which seems to be getting some good reviews on here) if you fly FROM there, but not if you fly TO there, then to me DXB-PER would seem to to be the go as everything else plane wise should be pretty much the same... If you could get access to the F floor in DXB on arrival as well, then might not matter so much...

I'd still like to get the EK A380 when it eventually starts flying to PER, however long that is away... Get to try that mid flight shower thing... :)

Is 3-4 hours really enough time to enjoy F??? My usual thoughts would be 3 hour or less its not worth paying more than Y, especially for like intra Europe J, which is just Y with a spare seat in between...

Maybe on an EK A380 in J or F it might be a nice taster anyway, for as you say 36,000-54,000...

One option is an EK F flight BKK HKG as a classic, circa 30K, only problem is the credit card sighting in BKK.

In my opinion 2-3 hours is enough but would also depend on the aircraft. I have been upgraded to First on Cathay short haul intra-Asia and it was nice to experience the product on the 747 but I cannot justify paying the airfare.

Great video... had a chuckle at work and manager gave me funny looks. When's the earliest you can hit the lounge up? (Does the lounge close at midnight?) I have a 20 hr-ish layover so debating whether I want to just hang at the F lounge? Thoughts?

Last year had BKK to HKG booked in 1st on EK as it was not only a new route but price was only $1400 return, but due to change in our flight plans at the time had to cancel it. Not too sure about that shower:).

Wow - I just dialed that route in and it is now priced around AUS$1150 return and it is on an A380 too. Man that is cheap. I flew EK J a couple of days ago. Awesome service for the price. The F suites looked awesome too.
