Hi,
Just a quick question, which OW lounge should I use in SIN (am WP) for QF10? Been previously using QC as never been WP through SIN.
Thanks,
KitKat

There is a BA/QF F lounge beside the QP, waiter service offering won-ton soup last time I was there, reasonable spread of buffet. Complicated password for wi-Fi , weird circular shower room with helpful attendants. Ok but not in same league as SYD / MEL or even BA in LHR. I didn't check any other lounges as was anxious to get my pizza buzzer for the shower :D

The F lounge by far, the skyview is not bad if you are tired of the other options!

although if you're into Scotch, don't expect the world. Lat time I went through, best they could offer was JW BL.:(

Black Label I take it then, not Blue? ;)

The SIN F lounge seems to be unfairly (IMHO) maligned a bit. AS Princess Fiona says, it's not like the MEL/SIN Flounges but quite adequate.

Black, definitely. I wouldn't have complained if it was blue.

tuapekastar, not sure if it is being maligned as much as criticised - and mostly fairly, IMHO. It certainly rates nowhere close to SYD F lounge (can't speak for MEL F lounge), or the range of OW lounges in HNK, or the F/J lounges at LHR T. 3 (which pales into insignificance compaired to T. 5).

Adequate is best way of putting it - would love the water pressure in the showers to be better, as well as range of snacks etc - but yes, adequate is good and accurate description.

But is it the best option for the OP, short answer yes IMHO.

I agree, markis - after all, usually only for an hour or so - just wish it wasn't so soul-less. But it is relaxing!

I think it is an unfair criticism and comparison. This is a hub rather than a home airport so it should be compared not to the Wing/Pier but to the QF F lounge in HKG or the JL Lounge (no real segregation between J and F in there either). Compare it to the old CX F lounge at LHR or even the CX lounge (no J/F segregation) at NRT.

Against all of those comparisons I think the SIN F lounge compares favourably with others in its class. In terms of home F lounges I would rate them in this order:

QF SYD (begrudgingly MEL as well I guess) - due to the food range available
CX Wing HKG (day rooms and general ambience)
BA LHR T5 (spa+nice and spacious)
JL NRT (massages + beer pourers)
CX Pier (I find it a second class citizen)
AA JFK
AY HEL

I am not sure what other home F lounges should be on the list - for OW that is...

If you don't need a shower (or if you just use the lounge to shower), then maybe give all the lounges a miss in SIN. I prefer the outdoor Harry's bar. It is in Terminal 1 (where QF flights depart/arrive), Level 4, near the Cactus Garden.

There is something nice about being "outside" after a long flight that makes it more attractive than being in any lounge. Best to sit at the bar and remain clear of the smokers.

Thanks for all the replies. Will try for the showers. Oh seems I will miss the CX HKG lounge

Put your name down straight away for shower before heading to Lounge . Showers are to the left after you get through past the desk. Few flights usually arrive together.

Hey guys

While we're on Singapore.
What about best lounge for those of us as Gold?

M

Yep, managed to get a shower after a sweaty day in Singapore.

Food options quite poor compared to HKG CX or HKG QF lounge. Small bowls of wonton noodles being offered besides the usual QP food. Not that much into drinks but the bubbly was not drinkable. The verdelho was OK.

My suggestion next time is to get a proper feed outside (eg 24 hour cafe with local delights for a final food fix), then come enjoy the lounge. The QF10 SIN-MEL leg is too short to have a meal onboard and to get any decent sleep for me (even in J).

I am not so much critical of the SIN F lounge but more concerned with some of the reviews rating it a superior lounge. The Skyview Lounge and the QF Business Lounge are just as adequate. In fact the food options in the Skyview earlier were much better but I am not that hungry.

Just because a lounge has an F in front of it does not necessarily make it the best option or a must visit lounge. Wait until you visit the SIN QF F Lounge or BKK QF F Lounge when they very crowded. Relatively small with conversations going on everywhere and very difficult to get some quite time to relax before the flight. And yes I am sure the same could be said about the Business Lounges but these are generally much bigger and one can find some relief away from all the noise.

Having completed my sixth visit to the SIN QF/BA lounge this year I have to say I am less than impressed. The crowding is annoying. With the BA/QF flights arriving/departing at similar times I guess this is inevitable. :(

The WIFI is just about unusable, almost on a par with the TBIT in LAX.

I'm back again in July and am wondering if it is any better in the J lounge. I have Priority Pass access too so maybe I wil have better options there.
