Which QF6 flight to take (& which seats in J for a family of 3)

My husband, daughter (3yo) and I are probably flying QF6 in late June. I had a look on expertflyer and apparently there are different plane layouts on different days.

On 26 June the layout is
Rows 1-2: 2x2
Rows 3-4: 2x2x2
Rows 11-18: 2x2
Rows 23-24: 2x3x2
I assume that this is the correct layout:

But on the 25 June the layout is
Rows 1-2: 1x1
Rows 2-4: 1x2x1
Rows 11-18: 2x2

Can someone please tell me if this second link is the correct one? I wasn't sure as expertflyer doesn't mention rows 23-26.

Also, Which of these 2 planes/layouts would be preferred?

And final question: Given there are 3 of us, which seats would people suggest? I had assumed in the middle where their is the 3 seats together, but then I read somewhere that no one recommends this.

Sorry about all the questions , but as it is part of my first offical international J trip I thought I had better plan as much as I can.

The one on the 25th has a First class cabin in Zone A rows 1-4. I think if those are being sold as J, the answer is to take the 25th. Of course, nothing is guaranteed and the aircraft may be changed.

BTW row 3 middle 2 seats on the 26th don't actually exist.

The first link is VH-OJD - this never flies to FRA; its solely used on SYD-PER.-SYD
THe second link is VHs with a four class configuration which are not scheduled to fly to FRA.

Your aircraft will be OJA, C, E, I, or J, which are in a 56J/40W/275Y configuration [as it stands at this point in time].

If I was you, I would want to sit all together and select a three seater and put your daughter in the middle. The only bad thing is jumping across people in the middle seat (and window seats).

The two three seater available are in a 2-3-2 x 2 area. Go for 24D,E,F (furtherest from the toliets and galley).

That's my opinion anyway!....

Oh that does make it sound appealling. Thanks for such a quick response medhead - now I can see why I was starting to feel a bit confused when trying to find the right map.

No worries. If that is the seat map for the 25th then it should be a good score. Of course, I'll stress that it might change. Also if Serfty or NM say I'm wrong, believe them.

Regarding you comment of "as it stands at this point in time", were you meaning that planes can be rescheduled at any point so who knows what plane we might get?

Also I assume the layout will not be the A380 seats in them. The Qantas site doesn't mention FRA when discussing the upgrades.

Also I took your advice and looked at the back of the plane. The 25th seems to be the following seat plan, with PE in J seats, and Y in PE seats.

OJD is most likely staying on the PER-SYD rotation, however it has been used elsewhere (not often) this year.

Yeah- anything can happen due to operational/maintenance/competition!
