I would think that this forum would be the wrong demographic for his services anyway

But we may (and very likely to) refer people that we know to use his service. We are also a good source of reference.

It's soliciting a commercial service. Read into it what you will. Obviously the mods do not agree with me, and that's fine.

You can't read just a part of the definition. You need to read it in full.

Read what in full? Sorry but unsolicited advertising is unsolicited advertising. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I don't see too much wrong with this service.
Just a means to monetise expertise in a (relatively obscure) field. It isn't much different from any other consultancy.

Think most of the dislike would stem from either the 'why didn't i think of that?' sort of mentality or the fear of 'the tragedy of the commons'.

Read the definition you posted in full.
'typically' != 'exclusively'. I read it properly.

Spam in internet terms is unsolicited email, but is translated widely as 'any unsolicited advertising'.

You're being too literal in interpretation.

Anyway, i'm putting this one to rest. Everyone is welcome to their own interpretations.

wow, I'm in awe of the pressure AJ must be feeling running QF. If I'm attracting this much debate just with I FLY FLAT.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me, the entrepreneur journey is an interesting and tough one, with interesting people indeed.

That's one of the reasons I've picked up the challenge to do the corporate triathlon in April - (300m swim, 8km bike, 3km run). Two mths ago I could only swim 50m - now I can manage 300m - its about the challenge!
(hope you don't think I am trying to advertise the corporate triathlon here) - because its too late to sign up.

Cheers.

Good luck to you mate (IRT both to both the Tri and your business). People love to have a debate and moan and argue etc. etc.

Personally, I don't think you'll find too many customers here on AFF so don't see any of this as a problem. Of course, others are entitled to their opinion. Half your luck if you manage to turn this caper into a viable business.

There's no doubt you're doing a lot if hard yards. All the very best!!

My problem with sites like this is that they tend to kill the golden goose.

In some ways though less likely to kill the golden goose than intensive discussions on public forums like AFF and FT, which are watched by airline and hotel representatives. It's not as if cash based FF programs (like US DM, Avianca LM and to a lesser extent UA, AA etc) are not discussed and taken advantage of widely, nor is discussion avoided on loopholes like .br, ex-Yangon & VA web glitches, some of which kept laying eggs for a while (.br) whilst others were killed pretty quickly.

Hi,

Don't get confused - I just provide the service.

I don't publicly share the steps as to how its done - my customers are too busy and don't want to know the nifty details. They just want to know someone is looking them.
They have other things they would rather do with their time, such as their business, their work or spend time with their family, or just watch TV.

I have much respect with keeping special tricks quiet.

Cheers
