futaris,

Like HHonors there is a whole topic dedicated to Priority Club. If you look, it answers all your questions incl status matching with HHonors. :)

I found this thread on flyertalk and this one here. But I was under the impression that you could get 3k-5k when signing up, without any stays ??? I guess I could use AMEX to transfer some points in otherwise, to get started.

Priority Club can be much easier than Hilton Honors to attain the highest status level. I managed to re-qualify for PC Platinum with something like 10 nights, while HH requires something like 60 nights for Diamond (which I was for about 5 years by the way).

The PC promotions and bonuses can make earning points very easy.

In Australia, there is a larger range of properties under PC than there is with HH. But overall I think the HH properties are nicer (obviously not comparing IC with Hampton Inn when I say that).

HH benefits for Platinum are very good, including exec floor upgrades, lounge access and breakfast. But PC is better value for using points for free nights. So it really depends on what you want from your program.

By the way, Hilton rarely provide a status match, especially to Diamond status level. PC was willing to comp me directly to Platinum status when I faxed them a copy of my current HH Diamond card.
