Which cruise line do you use ?

..........We also love Silversea having recently completed their Baltic and Kimberley cruises the past 12 months with Alaska booked for 2016. 10 days at sea is around our limit.

We have done 9 Silverseas cruises, mainly on the Explorer, but have another 3 SS cruises booked. I have discovered 30 days is my limit - my liver needs a rest after that

I have had a long held desire to go up the Norway coast. I searched Hurtigruten and saw a TripAdvisor link for reviews and was shocked at some of the negative reviews covering almost every aspect of it. Has anyone been on one of their ships recently? I think I must have started to look forward to it too much.

EDIT, actually the bad reviews are under the TA heading, "Northern Lights", the better reviews are under the 'Hurtigruten reviews'.

I have sailed once each on Carnival, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Norwegian. I found Celebrity and Princess to be above the others.

We've cruised with RC on the Oasis twice in the last eighteen months. We loved it so much that we've booked a 24 night cruise from Sydney to Seattle and we managed to snap up a large panoramic view room. Looking forward to going to the Boeing museum at the end of the trip too.

Cruised on both HAL and Carribean. Both very good Whilst i am proudly Aussie and my 4 grandparents were all born in this country, i find Aussies can get obnoxious and just plain annoying on cruise ships.
i thetefore start my cruises from the other side of the world. Alaska, Baltic sea etc. This seems to eliminate the " im from Adelaide, Australia " annoying loud mouthed bogan.

Why pick on Adelaide? Unnecessary.

I like to cruise without Australians if possible - find that as soon as say we're from Canberra we get a diatribe on how we are fat cats and wouldn't know what it's like in the real world, that with the confusion of the government and Canberrans. Even seemingly intelligent people do it!

We have been on 4 Princess cruises this year.

Diamond Pirncess Sydney-Singapore 19 nights
Sea Princess Sydney-Dubai 20 nights
Emerald Princess Rome-Rome (Mediterranean and Black Sea) 20 nights
Regal Princess Copenhagen-Copenhagen (Baltic cruise) 12 nights

My wife prefers Princess despite that fact that we have only sailed on one other cruise line being a short cruise on Legend of the Seas sailing from Singapore. She has got this thing about getting elite status with Princess. (we are Platinum at the moment). I told her that unless we try other cruise lines we will never know what the others are like.
We have a HAL cruise next week doing New Calendonia and Fiji 12 nights
We also have Celebrity cruise in February next year doing New Zealand 12 nights.

As for comments about cruising with Australians I too also prefer to cruise without Australians but not becuase of any BOGAN mentaliity but more to do with meeting people from overseas and getting to learn more about their culture. Having said that when we crusied on the Sea Princess we had a couple on our table from Australia that always came to the table drunk and always polished off a bottle of wine at dinner. I am sure they had a heart of gold but at times they were embarassing and loud. That could happen on any crusie as we experienced loud obnoxious Poms on the Regal princess a few tables away from us.

That is why I like open seating cruise lines. On Silverseas you can dine at any time and with any number of people, or by yourselves if you wish.

I did a Scenic River cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest in August (2015). Scenic was excellent but the bogan element was present and very disappointing.

Yes, I think it was a bit too much. The Sea Pricness, Emerald and Regal were all part of the same trip and with spending time with relo's in the UK including travels through Slovenia and Croatia (and surrounding countries) as well as North America and Shanghai it was very tiresome. Will think twice again before doing it that way again. One of the biggest problems we had was all the one way airfares we had to purchase. Luckily we managed to get some good deals but it took some time finding them as we booked them on the go while over in Europe.
