Hi Experts,

After reading this forum for the past year, I thought I would finally register join AFF. This forum has many great information, and I have enjoyed reading many of the previous discussions and trip reports.

I have a question to see if anyone would be able to help out. I've got a return trip from SYD to ORD booked in J early next year, and thanks to the recent change of my company's policy, we were made to fly on United. I am a Qantas WP member and as such, United had offered our company status match, and as a result I was awarded Premier Executive status. Now, I don't think I will be flying them very often due to the inferior service, and most of my personal travel would be to Asia. I've also noticed that been a Premier Executive member doesn't really offer all that much benefits, apart from extra points, and lounge access when flying internationally. (which you get anyway through the J class ticket)

At the moment, I am almost travelling on Qantas or OW airlines exclusively, but given I travel fair bit to Asia for personal reasons, I may just to start diversifying a bit and give my * alliance options a bit more thoughts given I believe on some routes they do offer a superior service. Given the above, which would be the best program to join and credit my points to? I am thinking about Kris Flyer - but thought I would consult the experts first. The ease to redeem my points on award flights would be my highest priority, as well as the number of points required on award flights. Any comments or advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Cheers,

Mike
