Hello everyone,
With CDG now rerouted via SIN and opened for fifth freedom selection, passengers going to Singapore to Sydney direct would now have the option to fly on either A330, B789 or A380.
Which one would you choose to fly if you are on J? I feel like all cabins are the same, but just thinking which one would be more comfortable?

I'd go with the A380, unless you want a daytime flight - in which case I'd choose the 6am departure on the 787. All options are good, though!

Given the flight time, whichever one has the quickest service… so prolly the a330… avoiding 2nd row because the footwell is narrower.

plus a330 likely to have wifi.

Maybe 787 next, followed by a380. All about quickest embarkation and disembarkation.

The A330s being used to Singapore are dry leased Finnair aircraft which don't have wifi.

Certainly great to have 3 very different experiences to pick. Can't go wrong either way especially when going to Singapore.

I'd take the A380. Cool factor (yes, maybe I'm dazzled), onboard lounge if I need stretch out space, upper deck flying, fairly quiet cabin and a bit of extra lateral room never goes really astray.

It's the most populous J cabin of the three, so yes, the service is probably going to be longer, especially if you get the rear of the J cabin.

Obviously, timing, award availability and/or price differences, and connections may have an overriding effect on choice. I guess if you get the AY wet leased aircraft, some like the lounge seat better than the Vantage on QF (I haven't flown AY's lounge seat; one day I will). Flying back from SIN, the choice probably becomes less a clear decision (i.e. much of muchness compared to deciding from SYD).

Never again on the a330. We recently flew Sin-Mel, red eye, and last minute aircraft change to the eight row ( from 7 row) business configuration. My first trip as P1 ( Mr Fefe is WP). We were “selected” to be bumped from our window seats to row 8 middle. How are they even called business seats? They are just two larger seats in the front row middle of the economy cabin. Look 90 degrees either way and you are looking at the economy row bassinets. And oh yes, there were babies in those bassinets who cried the entire way. The angled curtain did nothing to help, just got slapped with it every time a crew member went through it all night long. First we knew was noticing the change on the boarding pass. Asked in the lounge if a change was possible, told too bad. The row 7 seat, window was not occupied on boarding, was being kept for a cabin crew rest seat 🤷‍♀️. Never again.

If there is an A380 on the route, its always my first choice. Quiet, roomy, less vibration. A stellar aircraft.

What has fifth freedom got to do with it? Syd-sin is not a fifth freedom flight for Qantas
I think the OP might have been meaning SIN-CDG, and the ability to pick up pax in SIN for the AU flights (ie it’s not a ‘technical stop, transit only’)
