A vineyard either in Bordeaux or Champagne region of France due to the color of the soil, pale brown/early black suitable for a light red or crisp white ...
close... But not light wines!

Is it that one in Paris which is full of pickpockets ? Cannot remember the name
No. We went to the Saint-Ouen market once, on a miserable day so not only were the pickpockets at home, but only about 25% of stalls were open. Our favourite Paris Marche au Puce is on the other side of Paris at Porte de Vanves on the weekend.

But the flea market in my photo is a long way east of there.

Wow - Kyoto is such a beautiful place to visit …can’t wait to go back to japan and I read their getting traction w vax and reducing numbers 🤞
Absolutely! I didn't get to Kyoto when I went in 2019 - only Osaka and Tokyo (must get around to writing that TR) - but am keen to do Kyoto and also try to stay in a Ryokan, possibly around Hakone, when travel opens up again.

It’s also the most wonderful place to buy ceramics …

Left Bank, Bordeaux. Rothschild?
Left Bank yes. Chateau LaTour.

Well I think you’re close to St Emillon still so Chateau Latour and Cab Sauvignon?

As above, Left Bank north west of Bordeaux. Opposite side of the Gironde so Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with some Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. We did a tasting in their pristine white labs of barrel samples of Latour and Les Forts..
